"Transformational!"

TL;DR Version - I got more out of 1 week at Rythmia than I did with 10 years of working with various therapists. 10/10, 5 stars, will be visiting again. Booking: Booking was pretty easy. Started with a scheduled phone call, and then a short email exchange to get everything squared away. I paid extra for a solo suite so I had more privacy and didn't bother anyone with my snoring. Traveling to: Thankfully my local airport had a direct flight to Liberia, so the flight was easy and customs was a breeze. Had to wait a little bit for the rest of the party to show up before we boarded the private passenger van to the resort, which took about and hour. The drive was beautiful. Room & Amenities: The room was nicely appointed, the bed was nice and large, bathroom had a rainshower w/ optional handheld showerhead, plenty of sun, and since I had a suite, it was close to the saltwater pool, gift shop, and restaurant. The Front Desk, Moloka, and Spa/Gym were a short walk, and the clinic and classrooms were a further walk. Worth noting, if you're expecting it - the rooms DO NOT have TV's, sorry kids, you're gonna have to socialize. Restaurant: The food was pretty decent. It's all generally light and pretty healthy. On ceremony days, you will not have dinner. So get a good breakfast and a light lunch in. Pro Tip - They regularly have Coconut Water and Pineapple Juice available, That's fine during meals, but PLEASE be sure to drink lots of water. You WILL be dehydrated. Classes: LOTS of classes. Do not come with the expectation that this is going to be a lazy holiday. There is tons to do every day. I brought my work laptop expecting some free time to work on some stuff, and it never made it out of my backpack. Ceremonies: I wish I hadn't read any of the other reviews of the ceremonies because I think it gave me a bit of undue anxiety. I'd advise you to avoid reading about them as well. If you're still reading, I'll lay out the basics: The Medicine and Ceremony is different every night. The Medicine WILL give you some level of gastrointestinal distress, mine was very mild compared to others. The only negative things I can say are related to the moloka being open-air: 1.) be conscious of the weather and dress for it. I was very hot a couple nights because there was no wind. 2.) bring mosquito repellent. Otherwise pay attention, follow directions, and step forward with an open mind and open heart. BE BRAVE! YOU CAN DO THIS! Other Suggestions/Observations: I chose a week without any special guests or events, and because of that, the group was much smaller (~35) rather than previous weeks where there were near 100 guests due to special guests or events. I felt very close and well connected to the group and got along fantastically with everyone because of it. There were no strangers by EOW. If there is a special guest you do want to see, I encourage you to go see the person you want to see. Otherwise, I think you might have a better experience with a smaller group on a quieter week. Please go. This might be the best thing you ever did for yourself.
