Second time at Rythmia. My husband and I are Costa Ricans (ticos) who live in California. This time we brought family to Rythmia. Our group was 9 in total. 4 of us had drank the medicine several times before. This review is from my experience alone. We arrived on Saturday morning 11/18/23. Starting with the check-in process, you immediately feel like this is a very well thought out & organized retreat center. Upon arrival each guest is given a tote bag with several items, including a beautiful aluminum refillable water bottle to keep and to be used during your stay as well as a notebook with the agenda for the week (gracias, Esteban!). You are encouraged to download the Rythmia app so you can communicate with the front desk with your questions and needs, very smart! (gracias, Ariana!). Then we were ushered to the clinic for our intake, the nurses all speak fluent English and mine was exceptional (gracias, Priscilla!). Afterwards we went to our rooms. Our room was gorgeous! Impeccably clean and so well appointed. Two queen beds, two desks with chairs, two closets, a big dresser with 4 large drawers. Plenty of space for 2 people to put all of their stuff away for the week. Then we went to Roots restaurant to have a delicious healthy meal. The food at Rythmia is spectacular! It was so nice to be remembered by the servers (gracias, Tatiana, Rebeca & Kilmer!). There are so many good things to say about the property itself, but now I will go into the experience of drinking the medicine. Yoga (gracias, Víctor!), workshops (thank you, JJ!), classes, opportunities to ask questions (thank you, Adam!), opportunities to raise concerns (thank you, Sally!)… all that is so important and helpful… Then Monday comes and the anxiety sets in. The 1st of 4 ceremonies starts on Monday night, but knowing how much support there is during ceremonies gives you so much peace. There is SO much support! ALL of the holistic staff is top notch. All of them have chosen a path of service for their fellow brothers and sisters (us). They ALL deserve our utmost respect and acknowledgment. The following people were instrumental in my process this time: Jerandi (el sol venezolano), María José (tica), Marcela (tica), Michael (tico), Cesar (tico), Raquel (tica), Pablo (tico), Nestor (colombiano), Scarlette (dominicana), Carlos & Danny. ALL of the shamans were exceptional; Ananta, Oscar, Chris: GRACIAS, GRACIAS, GRACIAS! But the shamans who buried themselves deep inside my heart are Waleska & Taita Juanito. Waleska is a beautiful tica who embodies love, understanding, the divine feminine, and did I mention LOVE? Waleska is a powerful healer who gives her ALL during ceremonies. She has a special way of connecting with you and takes a sometimes scary moment, and turns it into a beautiful experience. Her opening and closing explanations were so insightful. I love Waleska and I want to take this opportunity to thank her from the very bottom of my heart for holding space for all of us to heal. Gracias hermana! Then there’s Taita Juanito. He was the lead shaman on Thursday night, the last night… Yagé night. There’s something very special about Yagé night. The crew that comes in with Taita is something else. Among others: Jocelyn, Luis Fernando, Mitra, Leo and Waleska was there again (yesssss). When Taita Juanito calls you for your blessing, it’s truly a beautiful experience. It’s hard to put into words all of the blessings and healing I have received from the medicine, so all I will say is: be brave and give yourself a chance. You’re so worth it! All my love to everyone at Rythmia, thank you ALL for such outstanding service and care for your guests. We will definitely be back.
