My favorite part of the week were the classes. Lots of preparation for the ceremonies and classes to process the ceremony experiences. I chose to have a private room, but in hindsight I think it would have been better to share a room to be able to have someone to review events and share experiences with. My ayahuasca experiences were very subtle. Nothing earth-shattering. No hallucinations. I was very lucid. I was slightly nauseous and only puked one night. However, although my experience didn't seem tangible, I did leave there with a new mindset, new compassion, and a strong sense of intuition which has continued even a year later. It has even made me more confident in my spirituality/religious beliefs. I no longer obsess over past traumatic events...they no longer affect me. I actually went to Rythmia to see whether this would be a good therapy for my son, but decided against it for him. It is not for anyone suffering from schizophrenia or bipolar disorder, which can lead to psychosis. One person in my ceremony did go into psychosis--either because he had a serious underlying mental illness or because he didn't stop his psychotropic medications in advance, which is required. The breath work was also pretty incredible.
